Will the Jewish people be in heaven?
Answer:
The Bible is clear that those who believe in Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord will be in heaven, regardless of race, language, social upbringing etc. The Jews received the promise of the coming Messiah through their laws, rituals, prophets, judges etc. even before He became a man and walked on earth as Jesus Christ (see Hebrews 11). All of these things pointed to Jesus as the Messiah. Adherence to the law was never meant as a means to be ‘right with God’, but rather points to their inability to keep the law (as we see throughout the Old Testament) and hence their need for a savior. Any person, including the Jews who hence trust in God’s promises of the Messiah who would come to save his people from their sins, would be saved and be in heaven. So, in a sense, the Old Testament believers, mainly the Jews looked forward to the appearing of the Messiah, Jesus through the lens of their law and prophets. As New Testament believers, we look back, through the pages of the New Testament to see that Messiah revealed as Jesus Christ.
